Hi! I am wondering about the drug vyvanse. I believe that I have had the symptoms of both ADD-not ADHD-(as in I don't think that I have the hyperactivity symptoms) as well as narcolepsy. I believe that I have had both of these conditions for most of my adult life. I think that the onset of symptoms started around 14 or so and I am now 35. Some symptoms that I have are extreme daytime tiredness where I have literally been known to fall asleep while standing up. I have woken when I felt myself start to fall over. I can fall asleep as soon as I close my eyes. I get 9 or so hours of sleep a night, yet I almost never feel well rested. Getting out of bed is the hardest thing that I have to do every day. I could easily sleep 12 or more hours if I could and I almost never wake up naturally. In addition, I have a lot of trouble concentrating, often make small errors, have a hard time keeping track of things like my phone, keys, etc., have great difficulty paying attention and keeping organized. I was considering going to a doctor and having them prescribe vyvanse or adderall as I have taken them before (without a perscription) and they have seemed to help quite a bit. However, I don't have insurance and don't want this to be too costly. Would I be able to be prescribed vyvanse after just 1 visit or would I have to go multiple times? Also, how much does a 1 month prescription cost? Do I have to take it every day or just when I am at work? Is there anything else I can do? I kind of hate taking it, but I feel like I have to in order to be a functional human being. Thanks!
