Hi, I had a LTHR on May 24, 2016. My post op recovery started out great. I was discharged from the hospital after 1 day post op, used a walker for only 3 days, never having to use a cane, went back to work in 6 weeks and was pretty much pain free. I had home physical therapy 3 x week for 2 weeks and didn't require OT. I was doing and feeling great until about 2 weeks ago. I woke up with excruciating pain in my left hip which radiates across my back actually affecting my right hip. I'm having difficulty standing up straight. The pain is relieved by either sitting down or, when ambulating, if I literally bend from the waist, the pain is completely gone. What could be causing this kind of pain after 4 months? I'm afebrile, no diaphoresis or have any symptoms that may point to an infection but I'm concerned about the possibility. I am going to call my OS today because it's not subsiding but was wondering if you can shed some light on what this could be caused by. I thought I was over the hump of post op issues and then this. BTW, I am on daily prednisone 5mg for my RA plus other meds so concerned if I do have an infection, could this possibly mask symptoms?
