Hi I had my first CT scan of my life mid Sep. as a result of going to ER for mild chest pain . I was going to the urgent care that night but, they were closed! So I went to the ER. I had mild swelling in my lower leg below knee which I assumed was from running a lot that week. I have " trace mitral regurgitation" so I though I better go be checked. EKG- Normal, blood work- normal, no embolism (had ultrasound), Chest X ray - ok (something on that report said " consider pneumonia"... They told me they would do a CT scan and chest X ray even before I was brought back I guess to the chest pain thing... I had IV contrast but they had to give me benedryl because I am allergic to some shell fish. I have never been a smoker, no other medical issues to speak of, no symptoms. I have had several severe cases of bronchitis including pneumonia when I was a child. I cannot be around smoke. I have seasonal allergies. I used to take allbuterol and other inhalers when I was told sports induces asthma back in 2001... all of CT scan stated clear , no other issues except for a 15mm nodule in right lower lobe.... They said it was probably the result of some type of scar tissue or infection that I may have had. Is 15 mm the same as 3m x 5 or is that different? I have never had a CT scan before so the recommendation made was to compare if available and if not, do a Pet or another CT scan in 3 months so I have scheduled that. No other follow up was suggested. I did make an appointment for a PFTest next week.
any thoughts because this has been consuming my brain and I do not want to stress.
