Hi. I have a friend who is 62 and in excellent health. He exercises often and water skis in Candlewood Lake almost every day. Last Wednesday, he went water skiing and did yoga at night and was fine. The next day, he was walking from his car to his office and felt extreme pain in his groin where he was barely able to walk. This continued where he then started to feel pain in his bad knee, which then blew up, where his doctor had recommended a knee replacement. He was taken to Danbury Hospital on Saturday and is now bedridden. He says he is unable to walk without a walker. He has a high fever even though he has been taking IV antibiotics for 3 days. They found yellow fluid in his knee which they drained but his white blood count is high so they do not think it is an infection. His blood and urine were normal. X-rays were negative. He does have a prior history of MRSA which had cleared up a few years ago. They took tests for Lyme Disease but the rsults have not come back yet. If any of the doctors have any ideas as to what might be causing my friend's condition, please let me know and I will pass it along to him. Thank you.
