Hi. I have a question about possible complications with an upcoming surgery. I'm 22 years old and recently lost a lot of weight which left me with loose skin on my breasts, and I'm going in for a lift in 20 days. I've been at my current weight for about 3 months and I've been keeping it stable. I have a healthy BMI, I eat very healthy home cooked food with plenty of nutrients, and I get a lot of exercise. I feel very healthy, but for the past couple months I had developed some disordered eating habits. I've been under a lot of emotional stress due to a huge loss in my family, so binging and purging became a temporary way to cope. I would induce vomiting 2-3 times a week after intentionally over eating junk. Since then I've shaken off the habit and no longer throw up at all, and my self-image is much better. I'm no longer under stress and I know for a fact that I will never induce vomiting again. I plan on eating healthy, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of exercise until my surgery in 20 days to ensure that I'm in good health, but I'm still worried there might be some lasting effects from throwing up before. This is my only opportunity to get this surgery, both financially and with finding time off work to recover. Should I mention to my surgeon/anesthesiologist that I had some bouts of binging and purging for about 2 months, but no longer do so?
