Hi, I suffered a head injury this weekend from being dropped on my head.....Epic Dirty Dancing Lift FAIL. I wouldn't kid about that sadly. I didn't want medical attention being the smart individual that I am.
I couldn't stop bleeding on my own, so after about 4.5 hours and four soaked bath towels and what looked like a crime scene in the shower, I went in and got the back left of my head stitched up and had a CT at about 4:30am Sunday.
I was okay most of the day Sunday, possibly because of the liquid therapy. Since, I have had an insane headache, tinnitus since Monday and I have been nauseous, don't have an appetite, and can't sleep for more than about 40 minutes at a time. I also have pain just under my left ear which I disclosed at the ER. I felt like it was bleeding, but it was not. All normal signs of this type of head trauma, but it's very concerning to me.
I have been trying to get in to see a neurologist, but haven't found an opening yet.
My CT also showed mild diffuse cerebral volume loss. The ER doc said I should be more concerned about my current condition....as I was being sewn up. Said that was more normal of an 80 year old vs a 42 healthy woman. I'm a non-smoker, non-diabetic, social drinker, but I'm pretty social. I'm 5'4" 112lbs and work out regularly.
Suggestions? Other than don't practice the lift after drinking on concrete with a 6'5" partner?
Since I can't get in right away to see a neurologist, should I try and follow up with a GP? The pain is pretty unbearable and Aleve doesn't seem to quite help.
