Hi, I Think I Accidentally Injured My Gum With My

Hi, I think i accidentally injured my gum with my nail two days ago.Yesterday, on waking up, I noticed the area had swelled up very much. I have been using salt water to gargle and rinse my mouth and applying turmeric paste on the area. I also used tea bags since to stop the swelling and when i do so, it goes down completely but in a few hours it swells up again. I have no pain in my tooth or gum. I have begun taking ibprofen for the swelling and it seems to have reduced. Should i be concerned? If this was a cut that can heal itself, how many days would that normally take?Would appreciate any help with this. Thank you
