Hi.
My names jade and I am 18 years old.
For the past few weeks I was having what I thought was toothache untill I later found out it was actually my gums causing me pain, over the past few weeks the pain has become very strong and has spread all up my cheeks, down my jaw line and gives me earache this leaves me in agony.
Soemtimes part of my face goes numb, I am getting white spots on my gums that are also painfull, I feel like there is something in the back of my throat making it very uncomfortable to swallow and it is giving me a very sore throat. I went to the doctors last week, I was given antibiotics to try and make the swelling of my glands go down and also a spray to numb the back of my throat to make it easier to take pain killers. None of this has worked. A friend of a friend is practising in dental work and she have an off record opinion that she thinks it may be a type of mouth (oral) cancer, I don't know anyhing about oral cancer. The fact it has "cancer" in it is very worrying to me.
My question is do I see a dentist about this? Will they be able to advise me otherwise?
