Hi There! I would like to ask about my 3 month old daughter. She has poor feeding, has 3-4 oz of milk for about 3 times per day. Sometimes she even refuses it and cries after. She also has tummy sounds after she finishes her milk. Her stool is yellow with a tinge of green tinges, after passing her stool with normal consistency she then lets out small rice shape yellow bits with a bit of water. Her stool exam is interpreted as her having amoebiasis and is taking medications for it. She was prescribed Metronidazole (Flagyl) 25mg/ml: 2ml TID, Cotrimoxazole 200mg/5ml, and ORS 2.5ml BID.
This has been happening for 3 days now and she has been taking the said medications since yesterday.
I just want to ask if these medications are fine to use with my daughter considering her age and should I take her to the hospital at this point for her hydration? But she is well hydrated as of the moment, I'm just scared of not acting quick enough and her condition would worsen. Looking forward for your kind advice guys. Thank you in advance.
