Hi, my wife has been ill for about 7 years. It started with acute chronic pancreatitis, then gastritis and now she is waiting for an consultation with an oncologist/haematologist. She is nauseas every day, usually in the morning, has bouts of dizziness when standing and moving around, can very heavy night sweats and is of course, very depressed given the duration and severity of the whole thing. She is currently on ondansetron, takes lorazepam for the nausea and to calm her down, nexium and is on an anti depressant. She is 59 and smokes 2 packs a day. She also drinks a lot of ginger ale, maybe as much as 6 cans a day. She has been seeing a GI specialist for the past several years but he now is saying all the recent tests he has done are coming back negative. All the blood tests she has had in the past year or two come back with high WBCs and high platelet counts as well as enlarged red blood cells. The GI dr. has her on Constella which did seem to do something but nothing spectacular. Three months ago she was admitted for a week. All they did was put her on massive amounts of fluids and cleaned out her stomach and bowels. She was great after this for about 4 weeks and then took a bad turn once again leading up to today. The anti depressant is serequil. Can you give us your opinion?
