Hi There!!! I'd Like To Have A Baby And I

Hi there!!!

I'd like to have a baby and I was prescribed 5 mg folic acid per day.
By mistake, few months ago, i took for 1 month, 20 mg per day instead of 5mg. (i thought i was taking mcg and I was taking in fact mg...:))

As a result, at ovulation, I had soooo much cervical mucus as if the whole white of an egg would have poured into the tolilet. I ve never had this, neither before, nor after...

In the meantime, I read better on the label and I came down to 5 mg per day, as prescribed.
My liquid at ovulation is just normal, that is, only a little bit ...

I thought about increasing the dose of folic acid to 10 mg per day. It would definitely help me, even if I took more, since i accidentallly tried in the past...

However, what would be the effect on the baby? Could a higher amount of folic acid help the embryo get implanted and develop, but still have unpleasant side effects on the kid?

Please, give me more info about how safe it would be for the baby if i increased the dose to 10 mg per day.

Thank you very much for your time and generous support!
