Hi...Is It Possible To Still Get Cysts In Your Breast

Hi...Is it possible to still get cysts in your breast after completing menopause? I always had fibrocystic breast disease before menopause. I have been done with menopause for many years now. About 7 months ago, my right breast became alot larger than my left one. They were always even on both sides. And it is continuing to grow. At the same time, my nipple in that breast became inverted. The veins have also become quite pronounced. I went for a mammogram. It didn't show signs of breast cancer, but it did show that I have very scattered fibroglandular density. I went for the ultrasound my breasts are very dense to the point that it is very hard to see anything except this density. The report came back that no signs of cancer. I didn't go for my follow up appt because I was told there was no signs. I got a phone call from the RN of my GYN dr saying that my dr wants to see me within the next 2 weeks. That it is very important I keep this appt because he needs to reexamine my breasts. Of course I got nervous. Not so much because of cancer, but I have heard that if a womans breasts are that dense, the dr may want to advise a masectomy in order to avoid any chance of cancer in the future. Before I became disabled due to an injury at work, I was an RN. I also voluteered for the ACS for five years going around to Long Island, NY high school health classes teaching these 11th grade students about breast and testicular cancers and how to do self-exams. With that past experience, and research for my own breast issues back then, I was under the impression that once the periods are gone, so are the cysts. All my dr's back then told me this also. I am only questioning that right now because my aunt who is in her late seventies says she has 2 cysts in her breasts since she was 22 years old. I don't know what to think. My appt is not until the 25th of this month. thank you for your help
