Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can My At-home COVID Test Still Be Positive If Symptoms Are Improving And Resemble A Common Cold?
I just did an at home Covid test and the results came back positive, even though my symptoms are going away. My sore throat went away 2 days ago. My congestion and my coughing is going away as well. I also don t have any other symptoms related to Covid. What I m experiencing is what I always experience when I get sick with a common cold. I ve been drinking a lot of fresh lemon juice and that s helped to make my symptoms go away. How can this be Covid if my symptoms are going away?
Please take note that COVID virus is a type of coronavirus, commonly cause of upper respiratory tract infections. This explains the similarities in the symptoms in both cases. If you get COVID, that does not necessarily mean you might have a severe case of the infection. The symptoms vary from mild to severe. In your case, you are having mild symptoms, meaning your immune system is working greatly to combat the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
