I Am 25 Weeks Pregnant And Have Smoked Almost A

I am 25 weeks pregnant and have smoked almost a pack of cigarettes a day for the first 4 months of pregnancy, as I didn't know I was pregnant. I am now down to about 10 a day. If I quit now will my placenta and baby heal from the damage already caused by smoking? I am 43 yrs old and have smoke since I was 11 yrs old. Thanks
