I Am 68 Yrs Old. I Have, In The Last

I am 68 yrs old. I have, in the last few weeks suddenly started having hot flashes. They are quite noticeable, last for quite a long time,30 minutes to 1 hr. & are more frequent in the evenings. I have only my right ovary, after hysterectomy, and removal of the left one in '1985' which was encapsulated & causing me quite a bit of pain. After menopause ended apx 8 yrs ago I have been free of hot flashes untill now. I am concerned about this sudden change & wonder if I should be checked for ovarian cancer or some other health problem. I have started 1 new medication 'Atorvistatin' during this last week, might it cause this?
