I Am A Serious Masters Swimmer In Tucson,AZ. I Have

I am a serious Masters Swimmer in Tucson,AZ. I have serious allergies to everything that grows here. Team training runs from 5:30 -6:30 in the evening, The temperature drop in the winter is significant once the sun goes down. I had noticed that my breathing had become difficult even back in July, but blamed it on being out of shape. When I swim it feels like someone has put a belt around my chest and pulled it so tight that I
Can't get enough air no matter how often I try. My Dr. gave me Montelukast and albuterol, and my allergist gave me Combivent. I've taken the Montelukast for a month and tried both inhalers. Neither of them seem to do anything. I've only used them for about a week each before swimming. I can tell in the 1st hundred meters if I am OK or breathless. I am a full time caregiver for my husband who has a fronto-temporal dementia and swimming is my only outlet. I've done all I can with diet, no smoking etc. Where do I go from here? My Dr. doesn't seem to be involved with this problem at all.
