I Am A Singer And Have Always Done My Best

I am a singer and have always done my best to practice good vocal technique to protect my voice. In mid January, however, I began feeling a pain in my throat that feels like there is a dry, scratchy patch right behind my larynx. I attributed it to winter dryness, but despite my best efforts, the sensation has persisted until now. In the past couple weeks, I've started noticing some pain while I warm up my voice. Sometimes during warm ups that pain becomes pretty intense and causes me to cough rather hard. I'm worried about my voice, but I don't want to jump to conclusions.
