I Am An Adult Over 50 Years Of Age, Trying

I am an adult over 50 years of age, trying to piece together parts of my past for self - discovery. Many of the symptoms of Aspergers Syndrome fit me quite well, except that I attained a high level of education and skill in my twenties as a musician. I have also suffered from a mood disorder which emerged at age 16.
My question is could a person have a mild form of Aspergers, and yet develop and adapt throughout life, sufficient enough to earn a graduate degree, marry and then raise a child? I don't know if I am too high functioning to fit into the Autism Spectrum.
