I Am Sorry That I Do Not Know Any Terms

I am sorry that I do not know any terms for the part of my mouth that I am talking about but it is attached inside my bottom lip to the very bottom of my gums. The day before yesterday it began to hurt so all that I have been doing is numbing the area for dinnertime to eat and mostly drinking liquids the rest of the day as to not bother it. Should I wait it out or should I go to the dentist? By the way, it is not ripped, bleeding, or developed a sore. It hurts like a pinch each time I take a wide bite for larger pieces of food. Otherwise, there is no other detection as to the area of my mouth hurting, it only occurs for wide bites and that is all.
