I Am The Charge RN At An Assisted Living Facility

I am the charge RN at an assisted living facility in Manassas, Va. A resident had dark red blood in her urine this morning. some additional dark urine on her panty liner. I faxed her doctor, it's Saturday. Is it appropriate to run a urine test ? Patient has dementia, not able to self report pain, discomfort, etc.
