I am trying to recover from an Osteoplasty - bony spur removed from my gum (below front teeth, lower jaw). It's been six weeks, 4stitches, gum split (two more stitches) gum split taking two stitches and a piece of gum with them. Hole left in gum exposing the bone. Infection, two antibiotics for three weeks which I have just finished. The mouthwash (Chlorhexidine) has left me with blisters but I had just started to granulate and heal. Last night I ate a mouthful of rice and a grain has lodged under my gum. I cannot get rid of it. Of course it's a bank holiday. Also, if I go to hospital I will see the same team who stitched infected gum, advised me to use the mouthwash which burnt me and who refused me antibiotics until my GP intervened. Help!
