I Had A Splinter That Was Infected In The Bottom

I had a splinter that was infected in the bottom if my big toe. I removed the splinter but since the infection creased a deep pocket and now the scab is bigger and greenish looking. It has been almost a month and it still is not healed. Should I remove the greenish looking site scab and start over?
