I have a periodic pain in my left hip and at the same time on the inside of the left knee, towards the front of the knee. It is just to the side of the kneecap. When it is at the worst, often at night, if I stretch out my legs the left leg will actually be longer than the right. If I get up and do twisting motions I can sometimes get my hip and my knee to 'crack' and then the pain is better. After the cracking my legs are the same length. A few other facts related to the issue are that when I am experiencing the problem I will also develop restless leg syndrome. Also I am not able to bend the left leg out away from the center of my body. It is like something in the hip just stops it, I simply cannot do it whether the knee is bent or not . And lastly, sometimes I get a sudden burning pain in my groin upon standing up and my leg buckles so that i nearly fall.
