Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a torn left rotator cuff which has caused at first shoulder pain, but now I have pain in my biceps muscle and sometimes in my forearm as well. I will be scheduling surgery for the repair of the rotator cuff, most likely next month. Another doctor made an "off the cuff comment" about suspecting that the torn rotator cuff may be an underlying problem. I don't know where to go with this and don't want to have surgery that may not do any good, although I know that may happen any way. I haven't been able to ask the doctor (an internist that I respect and have known for over 21 years what he had in mind when he said that. Do you have a clue? I'm not asking for an over the web diagnosis, just looking for something that my primary may pursue to rule out something else. Your assistance would be appreciated. The torn rotator cuff was, I believe, the result of a fall that I tried to break. I grabbed onto my car handle to break a fall after tripping over a shallow tree root. \
