I have a white spot on my tongue that has been there for a few months. It was flat and did not hurt. It turned into a canker sore a couple of weeks ago, the canker went away, but the white spot is still there and now slightly raised so I am biting the area now when I talk. I have seen a new spot on the other side of my tongue in the last week, again, slightly raised and I am biting that one, too. I had a dermatologist tell me a couple of months ago that it wasn't anything to be concerned with, but I would like a second opinion. What could it be and what kind of doctor should I see? My primary care doctor wants me to see an ENT.
