I have an 84 year old brother who has just been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome. He has a serious heart condition and also he an open sore/skin that a dr has been treating. It just doesn't heal. Now, we see the oconologist Jan 25. What questions should I ask? If he suggests the chemo treatment, which the pamphlet says are 7 consecutive days, then off 3 weeks, then on again. Can he handle it? Will he have a good quality of life after going through this treatment if it is suggested. Thanks for your help, if you can.
