I have an anterior cervical fusion from C4-6 which was done around 2007-8. Was in auto accident in late 2010 showing within one year cervical spine degeneration, hernia, etc. from C3-T1. I was also a candidate and did have surgery from T10-S-2 in December 2014. My question is my physical therapist is attempting to find a way to help me sleep better because my right arm cramping and radiculopathy down to my hand wake me up often. Of course I am on medication, but would prefer not to take it if there was someway i could sleep without the cramping, etc. In any event, when my PT tried to push on a certain area of my cervical spine several times, I had an immediate vasovagal reaction. Do you have any idea of which nerve or level that could be associated with?....or any ideas of ways to sleep other than what I am currently doing, which is ice, soft pillow, one of those children's spinal pillow, because my neck is small. I am 5'5", weigh 110. I do not have headaches or vomiting much now which is wonderful because I am reading at the correct levels with books propped up, but for the life of me, cannot figure out (1) how to sleep without the cramping and rad AND the vasovagal reaction.....was at the base of my neck, I think at C-7 to T1 or 2. Not sure. PT was just pressing on that area not maneuvering my neck to right or left.
Thank you
