I have constant fatigue, have little appetite. Sleep poorly,am losing weight, and depressed. All of these symptoms have occurred since I had a pacemaker inserted about two weeks ago together with a transmitting Metromic Monitor for nighttime transmission of any heart problem.
I've had atrial fib for some time and was taking Warferin to regulate my heart rate. This was working well until my cardiologist asked me to take Tycosyn ( spelling?). Almost immediately
I was blacking out a number of times each day and began falling, injuring myself twice. While in the local medical center where he practices, he arranged to transfer me to another hospital in order to have a pacemaker inserted. While awaiting for a room to become available there, a nutritionist arrived to fill in a report on my medications for the new hospital. When she noted that Tycosyn countered the work of Warferin, I had her call the cardiologist. Immediately he took me off this drug, and the blackouts and falls have ceased. It was obvious, however, that he had prescribed
it without looking up its side effects.
