I have experienced separate colds in Nov., Dec., 2015 skipped January and now have another in Feb. The current one however immediately followed a significant exposure to latex paint fumes, etc in a relatively enclosed environment where I was spray painting for several hours with a good dust mask, but not a vapor barrier mask. I felt quite fine during and after painting until the next day, when I noticed some eye burning symptoms and significant coughing which typically has not accompanied cold onsets with me. My symptoms now are dry cough (very infrequent), have had a few days of chills, my chest muscles are quite sore from sneezing/coughing, a bit of chest rattle during deep inhalation, no sore throat, but some general muscle achiness and very little voice volume which is typical for me when I catch cold. Based on the quick onset following the painting and my research of chemical pneumonia, is it likely that is what I have? If so, what treatment is prescribed if any? 60yr old male. No meds.
