I Ran Out Of Xanex...my Dr Gave Me A Refill

I ran out of xanex...my dr gave me a refill today...however, since a controlled substance, I cannot get refilled for about one week (I used up faster than amt. prescribed)....I was prescribed .25 three times a day....I suppose I took 1.0 instead of .75 on, say, 10 days over three months....if I cannot get, I will have to go to emergency room (and will cost my insurance co more)
