I recived an explantaion from a sinus scan i completed today but still dont understand what the whole thing means. It reads, There was a mild mucoperiosteal reaction in the sphenoid sinus cells, extending forward into the ethmoid sonus cells. Severe acute on chronic disease involved the frontal sinuses bilaterally with an inflammaory exudate on the left. A moderate mucoperiosteal reaction also involved the maxillary sinuses bilaterally, with soft tissue opacification of the OMCs. The nasal air passages were patent with mild septal deviation to the right, and mucus accumulation. There was a right sided concha bullosa. The posterior naso and oropharyngeal soft tissues were normail. Pan sinusitis of varying severity, with servere acute on chronic frontal sinus disease with an inflammatory exudate on the left side.
