I Suffered A Fall To My Buttocks, At Which Time

I suffered a fall to my buttocks, at which time I landed on a piece of iron machinery. I went to the ER and had xrays. There were no fractures visible. I have been 10 days on bed rest and pain medication. There is still great difficulty in walking, bending, reaching, and sitting on anything other than an overstuffed recliner. The ER doctor said that I should follow up with my primary for an MRI if not "significantly better" in a few days. Significantly better is a very relative term. I no longer need a walker, just a cane is sufficient. I have cut down on the pain meds, but still need them. I know these things take time. Should I be considering the follow up care, or is more patience needed?
