I was diagnosed with blood and pus in my urine This past Monday, with the symptoms of a UTI. Eventually it progressed to the grabbing feeling and burning when I urinate. I was prescribed Bactrim DS. I took two pills that day and by then end of the day, the grabbing feeling had subsided. The next day I became achy with a fever so I took two ibefrofen, and then spiked a high fever and chills that evening, and it somewhat broke after taking more ibefrofen. I continued to take ibefrofun that night and when I woke up I was all sweaty and started to feel a little better. It was at that time I noticed an orange tinge to my urine. I then went to my primary care physician ( the first visit was to an urgent care due to scheduling problems) He tested my urine and said that it did not contain the pus as the first urine test did, but it did contain the same amount of blood. (Non visible) he said to stay on the bactrim. He sent it out for a culture, and I recieved the results today that there was no UTI ( but I had been on the bactrim for two days) that night I had a little bit of chills but did not take any medication and have not had. Fever and chills since. I have since been drinking probably and average of 8 ounces an hour and my urine is a clear but very yellow. I have a little tenderness in my low right flank but I am not sure if that is manifested from anxiety. If I drink less fluids or urinate every four hours rather than 2, there is an orange tinge color. I know that I had the symptoms of a UTI, and it responded as usual , in the beginning when I started taking the Bactrim. I have acid reflux, loss of appetite , dry mouth, sometimes a headache, and some sluggishness and and foggy ness, which could be from taking the bactrim. I have two more days of taking the bactrim. I am 60 years old. Other than UTI's I have not experienced these symptoms before.
