IMy husband is having terrible low back and leg pain. He has had 2 MRI's done, one with dye, and was told that he has a cyst between L3 and L4 that is causing the pain. However, the enhanced MRI showed 2 white spots on a vertebra (not sure which one). He had blood work done today and all seems normal; still waiting on PSA, but he had that done in May and was normal. My question is, does white spots always mean cancer or can this be caused by something else? He is scheduled for bone scan tomorrow, but he is in such pain all he wants is the cyst removed. . . He is 72, has always been very active. Lifted weights and did karate for years. He is very healthy, other than this back pain.
