I'm 47 years old, recently (early Nov. 2014) had internal sonogram of uterus and reproductive area & was told that a cyst was seen on right ovary, three fibroids seen and something that may be a polyp was seen. My doctor wants me to have a saline sonogram after I've had two more monthly menstrual cycles. They will check to see if the polyp and the cyst are gone, if still there they will do a dnc to remove them. My menstrual cycle for the past several months have caused severe cramping and headaches. My cycle usually occurs every 28 days and lasts for 3-4 days with very heavy bleeding and cramping for day 1 & day 2. I change out a super plus sized tampon every 2-3 hours on day 1 & 2. Day 3 & 4 my bleeding is very minimal and cramping and headaches are non-existent on these days. I am on my menstrual cycle right now. My period came 1 day early, which was yesterday. I have been having severe cramping, headaches, and heavy bleeding for 2 days. I was traveling today and had to leave the tampon in for about 6 hours before changing it out. The smell was horrible. It smelled like something rotten. I'm very concerned because of the horrible smell of the blood and because my cramping these past 2 days has been worse than ever before. Also I need to say that I have Lupus and I'm on medication for it. Diovan, plaquenil, & flexeril are the meds that I take each evening. I'm wondering if the results seen in my recent sonogram have anything to do with why my cycle this time has caused such severe cramping and headaches awful blood odor and overall feeling of poor health for a couple of days. Please advise. Thanks!
