Is Feeling Of Highlighter Cap Stuck In Chest After Accidentally Swallowing It Serious?

While trying to open the back of a Sharpie Highlighter with my mouth, the back cap thing flew into the back of my throat. I was in shock & had no choice to try and swallow it. So, I did, and I was choking on it for about 5 seconds almost trying to throw it back up but didn t succeed & it eventually ended up going down my throat very slowly. It was painful, but I tried drinking water just to help it down. I thought it went down a bit, but I just now burped & forced a cough. The cough hurt, but now I feel like the back cap thing still somewhere in my lower chest area. What are some things I should avoid, look for, & do while it s in its process of coming out?
