Left Side Of Palate Swollen, Seems There's No More Room

Left side of palate swollen, seems there's no more room for it to swell. All previous feelings were replaced in the last month with glass ionomer. I've had lots of pain chewing: soft bread at the beginning, now meats. I cannot chew hard stuff, like popcorn kernels, as I did before. I can't chew at all. The dentist sent me meloxicam 15 mg for four nights after dinner. I followed all instructions and never felt that the swollen area went away. Cannot sleep, wake up with pain in bones (jaw, bottom , and top) all I'm left side. I'm worried it might get to my brain.

What are the dangers?
Do I need stronger medicine?
What should I do?

Doctor asked for x ray, but I'm worried.

Help please
