My 87-year-old mother has had 3 hospializations for dehydration/low sodium volume, and I would like to have a written "diet" to help guide her on how much fluids/water/sodium intake she should have per day. She does have hypertension, but this has been under excellent control. She also suffers from an inner ear disorder, but not diagnosed as Meniere's disease. Can you please help. Her GP has suggested she drink 64 ounces of fluid per day, 32 ounces of water and 32 ounces of electrolyte supplement such as Gatorade. Unfortunately, this would keep her in the bathroom for the rest of her life.
