My 9 Year Old Grandson Is Taking 2.5 Xyzal ,

My 9 year old grandson is taking 2.5 xyzal , 1 tsp daily, 5 mg singular daily and 1 spray veramyst daily..he has a terrible cough, not tight, loose but it agrivates him really bad. I have children's dime tap cold and cough over the counter, would it hurt to give him some at bedtime?
