My GP, Whom I Trust Very Much, Says I Have

My GP, whom I trust very much, says I have a yeast infection on my penis. It's the second time I've had this. However, this time there's pus on the shaft just below the head. The symptoms otherwise are the same: purple patch on the head, redness and soreness around the shaft below the head. Doc has me using clotrizamole on it. That was a couple days ago. I tried cleaning it well each time I showered at night but it was pretty painful to the touch and I think that and the cream may not really be helping. Now it's just kind of sore, even in the uretha a bit, and it does appear to be peaking. As in last time, the purple patch is turning to scaliness, as is the red area. However, the general soreness in the area remains and there's an open pus infected looking area, a small area on the shaft. Do you think I should go back to the doc?
