My fiance's been in the hospital for two days now. They can't figure out what's wrong and have ruled out just about everything they have tested for. Male, 35, non smoker, no allergies, regular exercise, occasional drinker...healthy horse.
Symptoms are: High Fever (mostly at night/bed time) Reached 104.4 last night. Level 6 headache (out of 10) just in the front head area. No other pain or rash anywhere. A little constipation. Fever has come and gone for 5 days now. His heart is enlarged and has been releasing high levels of Troponin (due to fever). Blood pressure is spot on perfect.
They've tested blood, urine, CT scan, and will be extracting spinal fluid tomorrow for a Infectious Disease Specialist if they can't come up with an answer by tonight. Negative on Lyme, Mono, Meningitis, HIV, Hepatitis, Flu and probably a bunch of other things that I'm not privy to.
He has a history of anxiety. And a family history of only diabetes. He hasn't been out of the country at all.
When his fever spikes at night, he shakes uncontrollably and sweats through his clothes. They're theorizing it as some type of virus but can't figure out what kind or where it stemmed from.
Please God help us... Hoping someone out there can figure this out.
