My Friend Is 47 Year Old Male, He Was Bit

My friend is 47 year old male, he was bit on the finger yesterday, cuticle area swollen, no pain. He soaked in epsom salt today and the area started to open and bleed, a little bit of pain now. He just noticed a red mark in his bicep area, approx 3" long. Wrapped finger and used neosporin, can I give him heat for the red area on bicep?
