My Husband Had A Hemoglobin Of 5.8 Two Weeks Ago,

My husband had a hemoglobin of 5.8 two weeks ago, and received 3 units of blood. Today, it was 5.6 and they are keeping him in the hospital. At the first instance, he had a colonoscopy and a endoscopy which showed two duodenal ulcers. I just took a look at his most recent labs and they show microcytes, macrocytes and anisocytosis present, Platelet count was low and platelets were large. My question is, what is going on with him?
