My husband has a history of arthritis and mrsa. He is recovering from an operation on a revised knee replacement that became infected from two year ago mrsa in his ankle. Finally after wash outs, wound vac and hyperbaric chamber(20 days 2 hour) the wound ankle healed. Then in October it attacked knee. Knee has been improving and he uses a walker. In last 3 days his knuckles have turned red and today blisters on 3 fingers in same hand. He will be on doxycycline 100 mg 2x a day for rest of life until antibiotic needs to be changed. He has regular appointment Friday 75 miles away his infectious disease doctor. What should be done about knuckles and blisters? bandaged, bacitracin, beta dine ,saline, other salves I may have from past ?
