My husband is a 57 yr old diabetic, in good health, with the exception of his diabetes. He recently ( approx. 1 month ago)injured his foot and went to the doc and was told that he had a chemical burn(gasoline) which caused an infection. He was given antibiotics, which helped. He was up and on his feet for several hours doing a project. The following day, he was in so much pain that he could not walk on the foot that he had the problem with. After two days, his foot was swollen and red. He couldn't put any kind of pressure on it without agonizing pain. We went back to the doc, who stated infection, and prescribed 10 days of antibiotics. Today is day 2 of them, 3x per day. This early morning he stood up and walked to the restroom and his foot instantly turned black and purple, over the entire top of his foot and needless to say, he is in unbelievable pain, even without touching the area.
