My Mother Was Suffering From A Chest Infection And During

My mother was suffering from a chest infection and during that time had two lung xrays done, one of which was normal, the other said "subcentimeter nodular opacity projecting in the lateral aspect of the upper right lung, unclear etiology, possibly a subcentimeter nodule. Linear basilar opacities may reflect mild atelectasis. No other airspace consolidation or pleural effusion"
After the course of antibiotics she took, the infection fully cleared - it has been 3 months, she has been fine since, no cough and any sign of illness. Is a follow up necessary for the possible nodule ?
