My question:
About 5 months ago, I went to Disneyland four 4 days. About halfway through our visit, my lower legs started swelling. I figured with all the extra walking I had been doing, and with the heat 90* + temps, it wasn't too much to worry about. The swelling would go down quite a bit at night, would be bad again in the evening. About five days or so after Disneyland, the swelling went away.
A couple weeks later it was back. It's usually from below the knees to my ankles. Occasionally when it's really bad, my feet will swell as well, but mostly my calves are swollen. Occasionally I notice a little swelling in my arms as well, but that's not often. Every day is different. Some days there is no swelling, some days there is lots of swelling and some days there is just enough to be bothersome. I went to see my doctor, he did some blood tests and sent me to see a vein specialists who ruled out the veins and lymph system.
My doctor wasn't too worried about it, suggested watching my salt intake and that was about it. I have been eating less sodium, trying to get up and walk more during the day (desk job) and eat healthier. Nothing seems to drastically impact swelling. A day when I think I've done bad with eating and being active, the next couple days swelling will be down. Then it's back up again when I think I've been doing good. I'm on 5MG of synthroid for low thyroid diagnosed about 4 months ago.
