My Right Shin Hurts Along The Inside Of The Tibia,

My right shin hurts along the inside of the tibia, is keeping me awake at midnight and has hurt for at least a week on and off. I'm wondering if it is shin splints, though I haven't been running. I walk about 3 times a week for 20 minutes. Monday I did spin class and swam 1000 yards afterwards, both of which I am used to doing. I was pretty sore/tired due the rest of the week, have not been back to the gym since then, just cleaning house to prepare for the holidays. I am wondering if I should get X-rays for my shin and what kind of Dr. to see.
