My Son Is 4months Old, Detected 2-3mm Supracristal Vsd, By

My son is 4months old, detected 2-3mm supracristal vsd, by now he is healthy and good results in ekg, ecg, his weight is 6.5kg. The doctor says he is not sure when to have surgery maybe 5-10 years old. Can he be operated at infant stage eventhough he is healthy, do i need to wait for symptoms of complication before to have surgery.. can we do vsd closing as early since supracristal rarely close
