My Son Is 8 Years Old And Has Had A

My son is 8 years old and has had a fever that's been up and down past 3 days. Seemed fine today, no fever earlier but has had a dry croupy cough. Ate breakfast and lunch but didn't want dinner and now has a fever again of 101.4. He started getting sick on Saturday and temperature went up to 104 but I got the fever down and he was pretty much back to normal yesterday, now between the cough and the fever again wondering what this could be.
